Work Amid COVID-19: Challenges & Concerns

Covid-19 has shut down offices worldwide, quite literally, as millions of employees work from home to contain the virus. Piplsay (powered by Market Cube) reached out to working Americans to understand the challenges they are facing as they try to balance work and home life amidst the growing health crisis. Organizations, as well as policymakers, can leverage this data in their decision making.

Going to work or working from home was never a challenge before, as millions of Americans struggle to keep pace with work demands amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. But the concerns go beyond just work efficiency as many fear pay cuts and job losses in the months ahead. Piplsay polled 20,169 Americans nationwide to get insights into the many struggles and concerns facing working Americans. Here’s a summary of what we found:

  • 33% of men and 27% of women think the government has been extremely slow in responding to the crisis
  • An almost an equal number of men and women (68%) are worried about pay cuts or job loss
  • 42% of Millennials and 36% of Gen Xers are confident about getting two weeks of paid sick week
  • 47% of Millennials and Gen Xers are able to work at full efficiency as compared to just 33% of Gen Zers

Survey Methodology: This Piplsay survey (powered by Market Cube) was conducted nationwide in the US in the month of March 2020. We received 20,169 online responses from individuals aged 18 years and older.
